Black History Living Legends Honored

As part of Black History Month, a local law firm recently honored five Black Chicagoans as “Living Legends.” Barnes & Thornburg, LLP was joined by the Illinois Black Legislative Caucus and the Cook County Bar Association in citing the lifetime achievements of Dorothy R. Leavell,

Publisher of the Chicago Crusader and Gary Crusader newspapers; Mr. and Mrs. James Montgomery, legal profession and civil rights icons; Hermene Hartman, Publisher of N’Digo magapaper; and William Garth, Publisher of the Citizen newspapers. The ceremony was held at Barnes & Thornburg’s offices at 1 North Wacker Drive.
